Hi there! I am Charlotte, a travel content creator from Belgium and the founder of this travel blog. It was never my goal to become a digital nomad. Instead I want to create efficient travel guides for people that want to make the most of their holidays.
Charlies Wanderings was founded on Instagram but I longed for more freedom in photography and more insightful writing. What started in 2017 as a solo project quickly turned into a group effort when I met my current boyfriend Christof.
Over the past years this blog also went through some changes. Where it first focussed on those typical Instagrammable places I decided to switch things up and create more meaningful travel guides. One of our favorite things to do during our travels is to go hiking so you’ll find a ton of hiking guides on this travel blog!
We try to focus on the lesser known places. Even though these days with Social Media, that’s pretty much non existent. Still, past adventures have taught us that we thrive in less touristic spots.
In 2023 we welcomed our son César, who joins us on all of our adventures! In August of 2025 I gave birth to our beautiful baby boy named Charles. Unfortunately, due to medical complications we only had him with us for 5 days. He’ll be with us in our hearts wherever we go.
In september 2026 we got to welcome our beautiful little rainbow girl Cosette. In the few days that she’s been with us she already healed a big part of my heart and we can’t wait to show her the world!
I am a woman with too much energy who tries to combine running this travel blog with a dental practice and being a mom.
Not a day goes by where I am not thinking about upcoming travel plans and trying to find the most beautiful places and best things to do in each spot.
I am the main writer of Charlies Wanderings and edit all of our photos.

I am a go-with-the-flow type of guy who loves traveling but I prefer to stay more out of the spotlight.
As of 2020 I am the main photographer at Charlies Wanderings.
I prefer adventurous travels where I can relax from time to time with a cold beer in my hand.

I am the oldest son in the house and I love being outdoors, playing with cars and Toy Story! My parents always take me with them on every adventure.
I love running around in nature, chasing pigeons in old town squares, testing out every playground that I come across and sometimes I also like posing for photos!
Favorite food: I’m a true carnivore
Favorite drink: Milk
Favorite country: Disneyland
Our second son Charles, was born on August 19 in 2025. But due to medical complications and medical negligence of our gynecologist, we already had to say goodbye to him 5 days later.
He fought like an absolute warrior and the little lion that he was. Losing our son was one of the hardest things we ever had to go through as a family.
You won’t see him growing up on our travel photos, but he is with us on every adventure.

The name stems back from my early days on Instagram when i searched for a catchy username. Back then my blog focussed especially on female solo travel. But over the years it has become so much more and also focusses on adventurous couple holidays.
And as of August 2023 we have our youngest adventurer César who joins us now as well on all of our travels. While traveling with a child is definitely a whole new undertaking we really want to show you that your adventurous days aren’t over yet!
Over the past years this blog has grown massively and we now reach millions of people every single year. Something that I could have only dreamed of before. But the goal has remained the same all these years. Inspire people to explore more and take a leap to go on that adventure!

I try to take at least 5 trips every year that are at least 1 week long. As a pediatric dentist I have an unlimited amount of holidays. The only catch here is that all of my leave is unpaid :p. Christof works for a company so he is bound to a regular set of days off. We usually try to plan our holidays as efficient as possible and don’t shy away from flying halfway across the world for a 1 week road trip.
With this travel blog we want to be an inspiration for those looking for an epic and adventurous holiday and a limited amount of time.
So I pretty much have two companies that I run. One is my dental practice, the other one is this travel blog Charlies Wanderings, which is also listed in Belgium as an official company. We travel a lot in a year and one thing I never want to do is touch our savings or the money that I make with dentistry.
As of 2021 I have earned a full time passive income with my blog and every year it’s gaining more and more traction, which means more funds for upcoming travels.
In the past I have also worked together with a couple of tourism boards but with my current workflow those aren’t manageable anymore. I need to know my travel calendar 6 months from before and press trips are usually announced max 1 month from before.
We’re here to show you that you don’t have to be a digital nomad to travel the world. And that even if you have a limited amount of days off per year you can still go on incredible holidays!
There’s really no need in quitting your job (hell you actually need money to travel!), or sell everything you own or homeschool your kids to have fantastic adventures! All you need is efficiency when planning out your itineraries and that’s exactly where our travel itineraries come in handy! Cause we’ve already done all the work for you!
