Are you looking for those perfect Instagrammable places in Jaipur, India? No need to look further, cause this blogpost covers them all!
Including some insider tips on how to get there, when to go and what to wear to get that perfect shot!
1. Amer Fort
- How to get there – Tuk Tuk + walk up is on foot
- When to go – The fort opens at 8am so make sure you are there by then! It’s located in Amer, a town a little outside of Jaipur and it can take up to 30 minutes to get there depending on traffic so make sure you take this into calculation
- What to wear – Go for a colourful one coloured dress here to make sure you stand out

2. Nahargarh Fort
- How to get there – It’s a pretty far drive since it’s way further than Amer Fort from Jaipur. We took a Tuk Tuk but I would advise you to go with a car with driver (don’t go driving yourself here :p) because of all the winding roads.
- When to go – Make sure you arrive one hour before sunset. This spot is located at the sunset point and taken from the terrace of the cafe that is there. Be prepared for a lot of people staring at you if you would climb up the wall cause apparently not many people are that crazy.
- What to wear – Go for a soft white dress here, it will reflect beautiful against the sunset colours and will be in sheer contrast with the pink city of Jaipur below.
3. The great wall around Amer Fort
- How to get there – Tuk Tuk + a very steep climb up so make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes. We climbed up the stairs right across from Amer Fort. Just ask your Tuk Tuk driver and he will know where to drop you off!
- When to go – You will want to experience the sunrise from up here so make sure you arrive at the bottom one hour before sunrise so you have enough time to climb up and set up everything. It took us around 25 minutes to go up the hill itself, then again we went in the middle of summer so it was already 36 degrees Celcius at 6 in the morning :p
- What to wear – Comfy shoes + a flowy dress: it can get very windy up there so it will make for great photos!

4. Panna Meena ka Kund
- How to get there – The stepwell is located 10 minutes driving from Amer Fort so best to go by Tuk Tuk. Even early in the morning there will be a guard present who will let you take photos for 100 Indian Rupies. You get 10 minutes per person but when other tourists arrive you can’t walk down the stairs.
- When to go – Early morning is best otherwise the sun will be too harsh here to take any nice photos.
- What to wear – A colourful dress that you can drape a little and adds some movement to the photo.

5. Hanuman Temple “Monkey Temple”
- How to get there – The best option here is to take a car with a driver for this one. Make sure to ask your driver to drop you of at the entrance. We didn’t know this from before and he dropped us of at the foot of a giant hill which we then had to climb up and down two times to get there and back. I can tell you that’s not ideal when it’s 40 degrees Celcius :p
- When to go – Try to go before 10 am to avoid harsh shadows in your photos. Do not visit this place after sunset cause in dry season tigers descent from the hill to come drink here.
- What to wear – Opt here for something that covers your shoulders in case a monkey jumps on them cause they are all around and love to jump from above into this pool.

6. Café Palladio
- How to get there – You can easily get here by Tuk Tuk.
- When to go – It’s the perfect place to enjoy an elaborate lunch (the food is absolutely delicious) and escape the heat. The staff is super friendly and they even moved our food outside to take a photo and then moved it back inside cause of course it was way too hot to eat out.
- What to wear – Try to avoid harsh colours here since the interior is in pastel colours.
7. Hawa Mahal
- How to get there – It’s located in the middle of the pink city so a Tuk Tuk is your best option. Right in front of the building there is a very busy street so your best option is to go up to one of the cafés across the street. We chose Wind View café since it has the highest terrace.
- When to go – Make sure you are here before noon otherwise the sun’s reflection will probably ruin every photo.
- What to wear – White or light pastel colours

8. Jawahar Circle Garden Gate
- How to get there – It’s pretty far out of the center of Jaipur so a car with driver is best here.
- When to go – We were there around 5pm and had the most perfect and soft light to take photos!
- What to wear – Since this place is already so colourful it’s best to go for white.

9. Diwan I Aam
- How to get there – It’s the public hall of audience in the City Palace of Jaipur which you can easily reach by Tuk Tuk. To enter this place you only need to buy a ticket to visit the museum.
- When to go – It’s one of the most touristic attractions in Jaipur so make sure you are there when it opens at 9.30 am.
- What to wear – Everything here is either pink or orange so I would opt for a light coloured dress!
10. Chandra Mahal
- How to get there – Also located within the City Palace of Jaipur but to enter here you have to pay an additional fee.
- When to go – Head here straight after you visit the public hall!
- What to wear – A yellow or white dress is the way to go here!
