Are you currently planning a hiking trip but not sure which makeup products to bring with you? Well, if you look at my hiking guides etc you might not think it but I am absolutely obsessed with everything related to skincare and make up.
Ever since I was a young girl I loved experimenting with make up and at the age of 10 I got my very first eye shadow palette. I wasn’t allowed to wear it outside but when I was home I would go to town with all of those colors. Not saying those were my best looks but it’s where it all started.
One thing I also love doing is adjust my makeup to the place I am visiting. For instance in a country like Jordan or Egypt I will wear heavy eyeliner and also contour my eyes more with black liner. Just like with fashion I love to create a certain aesthetic with my make up look.
Of course when you’re traveling you can’t bring your entire make up collection with you. I would probably need two giant beauty cases to fit everything. But over the years I’ve learned which products work best and which also won’t get destroyed when they’re tossing around your suitcase at the airport.
In this article I will list my go to makeup products that I use when I go hiking!

The Best Make Up Products For Hiking
It’s not that easy finding good beauty products for travel. You need makeup that won’t run or fade when walking around all day in a warm climate. Or even worse, when you’re hiking up a mountain. Cause yes, even when I am hiking I wear make up.
I have one of those faces that if I am not wearing any makeup people tend to ask me if I am sick… I have very pale skin and my eye brows and eyelashes are very light blonde. As a result I have little to no expression in my face if I am not wearing any makeup.
Don’t get me wrong, when I am home I often go days without wearing any makeup cause it’s also important to let your skin breath. Same goes when hiking or doing outdoor activities. You don’t want to wear make up that feels like a thick layer cause chances are very high that you’ll be sweating. You’ll want light make up that still gives enough coverage and preferably also protects you from the sun.
Below you’ll find my go to products for makeup products when I go hiking.

The Best MakeUp Products For Hiking
Erborian Cc Cream Clair SPF25 ✅ Recommended makeup for hiking
The Erborian Cc Cream Clair SPF25 has been my go to coverage product for years. I’ve tried several foundations as well but I am just not a fan of the full coverage look. This Cc cream comes out of the tube as a white cream but as soon as you apply it it adapts to your skin and gives it a clean and polished look.
It’s saturated enough to act as a foundation, but lightweight enough to let your skin breathe. It protects your skin from the sun while moisturizing it.
I use the Cc Cream in the color Clair but they also have one if your skin is a little more tan: Erborian CC Cream Dore SPF25.

I especially love bringing this product with me cause it’s a 3 in 1 product, which means more space for other things! With only 1 tube (which takes up way less space than a foundation bottle) you have a moisturizer, sun protection and a concealer.
Maybelline Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Eye Concealer Light ✅ Recommended makeup for hiking
If I go on a hiking trip it usually means early wakeup calls to catch the sunrise. And this often multiple days in a row. You can imagine the dark circles underneath my eyes after a while…
I love using the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Eye Concealer in Light to cover them up.
They also have these in several other colors but for my skin tone the Light version works best.
And as you can see I use this product a lot :p.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess No. 01 ✅ Recommended makeup for hiking
As I previously mentioned I am very fair skinned so I love to use a bit of bronzer on top of my Cc cream to make me look a little more sun kissed. I’ve had problems with powder bronzers in the past: they would crumble after shaking around in my makeup bag but not this one!
And yes, it’s not the cheapest one but I have used the same palette now for nearly 3 years! To apply it I use a big brush by Mac so it’s easy to apply without creating any streaks or spots!
Sometimes I even put this bronzer in my backpack to quickly do a little touch up after climbing up a steep mountain. It always returns in one piece.

MAC Sheertone Blush Pinch Me ✅ Recommended makeup for hiking
I’ve been using this exact same blush for years now and love how it gives my cheeks a peachy glow. In case you don’t want to bring another powder product with you the Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek is also a good solution! The advantage of a blush stick is that it is more compact in size and that you don’t need to bring an additional brush to apply it.
All you need to do is apply the cream on your cheekbones and then smudge it with your fingers.
On the other hand I also use the MAC Sheertone Blush Pinch Me as eyeshadow on top of the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerize Rose Gold that I talk about below. This way you don’t need to bring any other eye makeup palette with you either.

Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerize Rose Gold ✅ Recommended makeup for hiking
What I love most about this product is that it works as an eyeshadow but you don’t need any kind of brush to apply it. Instead of lagging around an entire makeup palette and make up brushes all you need is this tiny container and your finger.
To apply simply dap your finger gently onto the cream, apply on your eyelid and smudge until you get the desired effect.

Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift Eyebrow Pencil ✅ Recommended makeup for hiking
I have very, very light eyebrows myself. Son much so that if I don’t wear any eyebrow makeup you can barely see them. If I could only bring two makeup items with me it would be this Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift Eyebrow Pencil and a mascara.
This pencil consists of both a brush to comb your eyebrow hairs and a pencil to fill them in and in my case make them a little darker.

MAC Eye Brows Big Boost Fibre Gel ✅ Recommended makeup for hiking
To keep all of my eyebrow makeup in place I always use this eyebrow gel after applying my eyebrow pencil. It make my eyebrows a little more fluffy and a little bigger. Plus it also keeps all of the eyebrow makeup in place.
Even if I am hiking up a mountain I will ALWAYS apply these two products and as you can see on the photo below (on the right), it actually stays put after hiking up a mountain. And I can tell you, I was sweating a lot during that hike!

Charlotte Tilbury Feline Flick Eyeliner ✅ Recommended makeup for hiking
When it comes to the perfect eyeliner for hiking you really don’t want it to run once you start sweating.
I love the Charlotte Tilbury eyeliner cause it does just that! Even after hiking up a mountain it’s still perfectly in place and I don’t end up looking like a panda!
It has an extra-soft fiber tip that applies like a brush. This way you can create the perfect cat eye look in just a few seconds!

Bobbi Brown Corrector Light Bisque ✅ Recommended makeup for hiking
If I want to go for a natural make up look when I go hiking I always use the Bobbi Brown Corrector on my eyelids.
I simply dap a little of the cream on my fingertip and smudge it on my eyelids. The cream doesn’t crease and gives perfect coverage.
In less than 3 seconds my eyes look completely refreshed and it stays on even when hiking up a mountain!

L’Oreal False Lash Superstar Mascara ✅ Recommended makeup for hiking
While there’s an endless amount of mascara’s available these days I’ve always remained faithful to the same one.
It contains two parts: a white primer that you have to apply first and which will already curl your eyelashes.
The second part simply is the color. I prefer using black mascara cause it makes my blue eyes pop more.
This is not a waterproof mascara and honestly I am not a fan of those. They are extremely hard to take off and will often damage your eyelashes.
I’ve worn the L’Oreal False Lash Superstar Mascara during multiple hikes and it always remains intact and doesn’t smudge!

URIAGE Bariederm Cica-Lips Protecting Balm ✅ Recommended makeup for hiking
When going on a hiking trip you’ll often be exposed to a lot of sunlight. Or if you like to wake up early your lips can also get damaged from the cold.
I’m a bit of a lip balm addict cause my lips tend to get very dry, especially when I am out hiking!
This lip balm protects my lips from drying out and getting chapped!

Waterproof Cosmetic Bag
Now, after gathering all of your makeup products for hiking you’ll also need somewhere to store them.
I love this trio of makeup bags cause they come in different sizes. So even if I decide to bring some makeup products with me during the hike I can still put them into the smallest bag without it taking up too much space in my backpack!

That covers all of my favorite makeup products for hiking! If you have any questions simply drop them in the comment section below!
