People can talk sh*t about Instagram all they want but it still remains a great way to discover some of the most incredible places in the world. Some places that I visited over the past years, I wouldn’t even have known about their existence if it wasn’t because of this platform. That’s why I decided to list my own top 25 of Most Instagrammable Places in the World that I have seen and visited myself.
Every listing will included the best time to visit, how to get there and it’s EXACT Google Maps Location.

1. City Palace in Jaipur, India
How to get there – The City Palace is located in the middle of the Pink City of Jaipur so the best way to reach it is by Tuk Tuk. If you wish to see all of the best spots you have to buy the combined ticket that allows you entrance to the museum as well as the private chambers.
When to go – This is a very touristic place so make sure to arrive at 9.30 am as soon as it opens.

2. Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
How to get there – The easiest way to get there is by car, especially in the early morning. If you don’t have a rental car you can order a Grab. There is a big parking lot in front of Batu Caves and if you arrive before 7am you don’t even have to pay entrance.
When to go – Ever since Batu Caves got a rainbow make-over it has become one of the most visited spots in entire Kuala Lumpur. Make sure to be there a little before 7am (opening time). Don’t worry if already a bunch of people are waiting there. It was like that when I was there but after 1 hour they left and I had the place entirely to myself.

3. Shinjuku Omoide Yokocho ( Pee Alley) in Tokyo, Japan
How to get there – Take the subway to Shinjuku Station, take the West Exit, turn right and this little alley is only 5 minutes away.
When to go – This place is filled with little restaurants where the locals come and enjoy a lunch so try to go before 12pm.

4. U Min Thonze Temple, Sagaing in Mandalay, Myanmar
How to get there – Stick with your driver for the day and after climbing up to the temple enjoy a fresh coconut to relax from the heat
When to go – This places must be amazing for sunrise or sunset, unfortunately that didn’t fit into the itinerary.

5. Musée Du Louvre in Paris, France
How to get there – Located in the heart of Paris and right behind Place de la Concorde!
When to go – Either go early in the morning or after the Louvre closed! It’s way less crowded then and at least the pyramid won’t reflect all of the sunlight

6. Torre de Belém in Lisbon, Portugal
How to get there – It totally depends on where you are staying in Lisbon but if you’re further than walking distance I advise you to use an Uber.
When to go – Opening time is 10am. Make sure to be there 30 minutes from before so you can snap a few photos on the bridge. There will be a little rope there stating it only opens at 10am which makes it actually perfect cause no one will be on the bridge (it’s the only entrance and exit to the tower so as soon as it opens it’s filled with people).

7. Kirkjufell in Iceland
How to get there – Follow the main road around the Peninsula and in the North you’ll find this mystical mountain with it’s waterfall. The parking lot is pretty small.
When to go – This spot is so touristic so make sure to get there as early as possible! Sunset will be crowded for sure so try to be there right at the break of dawn.

8. Karnak Temple in Luxor, Egypt
How to get there – The quickest way is by taxi (always make sure to haggle before you get in!).
When to go – We were there for sunset and it was absolutely magical. There were a lot of other tourists but we asked one fo the guards nicely if we could stay 5 minutes longer to take photos and it was no problem at all.

9. Lago di Braies in Italy
Lago di Braies, also known as Pragser Wildsee is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Dolomites! No trip to South Tyrol is complete without paying a visit to this magical place. During my road trip I saw a lot of lakes, but none of them come even close to the beauty of Lago di Braies! This is one of the few places that looks even better in real life than on any photograph. It’s safe to say that this is one of THE Most Instagrammable places in the Dolomites.
How to get there – Lago di Braies is very easy accessible. The most convenient way to get here is by car. There is a big parking lot right next to the lake (€6/hour) and from there it’s only 5 minutes walking to the pier.
When to go – Due to it’s accessibility it can get very crowded at Lago di Braies very early on. I opted to go for sunrise and arrived about 20 minutes before the actual sunrise! This is also the time when the water is still and you can clearly see the reflection. For a mere 5 minutes the mountain tops will light up in orange-pink tones which is a magical sight not to be missed.

10. Bridge of Sighs in Venice, Italy
How to get there – Most likely one of the most beautiful bridges in the world. The Bridge of Sighs can be found behind the San Marco Square. This photo was taken two bridges away from the actual bridge.
Tip – The bridge next to the Canale Grande is already crowded at 7am.
When to go – Go between 7am and 8am

11. Bai Tho Mountain in Ninh Bin, Vietnam
How to get there – This is the famous viewpoint in Halong Bay that you don’t want to miss but that’s super hard to get to. And by super hard I am not exaggerating. To get there you’ll have to walk to the street that I linked for you below. The entrance is located behind a woman’s house.
Update December 2019 – This place is now guarded and not possible to climb anymore. If you have any updates please let me know so I can keep this post updated!

12. Ulun Danu Beratan temple in Bali
How to get there – You can get here by either motorbike or car. During my stay at Munduk Moding plantation I was able to visit a lot of places in Munduk together with them on a morning trip.
When to go – Definitely visit this place for sunrise

13. Burg Eltz in Germany
How to get there – If you want to visit Burg Eltz the easiest way to get here is to go by car. There is a big parking lot located at the top from which you can take two routes towards the castle. One that is a little longer and goes through the forest. The other one that goes down a steep street and offers a spectacular view over the castle.
When to go – Burg Eltz opens to the public at 9am so make sure to go at sunrise. You’ll be joined by other photographers but during the two times I visited everyone was always super respectful towards each other.

14. Kebema Panoramabrücke in Austria
How to get there – This incredible suspensions bridge can be found close to the Olpererhütte! The only way to get here is to hike up. You can park your car at Parkplatz Schlegeis Stausee and from here it’s about 1,5 hour to 2 hours hiking up. Make sure to bring enough water with you and to wear proper shoes. This is not an easy hike but definitely worth the effort!
When to go – This hike is best enjoyed early in the morning.

15. Shah-i-Zinda in Samarkand, Uzbekistan
How to get there – If you go on a sunrise mission to take photos I advise you to take a taxi.
Entrance fee – 25.000 SUM/per person
When to go – The complex opens at 7am and I strongly advise you to be there on time. This will give you plenty of time to take stunning photos before the crowds arrive.

16. Xingping in Guilin, China
How to get there – Xingping is about an hour driving from Yangshuo and Guilin. The best way to get here without a fixed tour is by taxi. Do know you’re in mainland China and really not a lot of people speak English!
When to go – This place must be amazing for sunset! I was there in the middle of the day and due to the overcast weather the light for photography was still really good!

17. Gion in Kyoto, Japan
How to get there – Gion is the old Geisha neighbourhood in Kyoto and can be best explored on foot.
When to go – Go at sunrise to experience the streets in Gion without the hordes of tourists.

18. Lake Eibsee in Germany
How to get there – Lake Eibsee is one of the most beautiful lakes in Germany and can be best reached by car. There is a pretty big parking lot at the start of the lake.
When to go – Go in the early morning! Especially during the summer months it can get very crowded from 9am.

19. Camps Bay in Cape Town, South Africa
How to get there – If you’re staying in Cape Town you can easily get there by Uber or by car. Camps Bay beach offers the most stunning view over the twelve apostels of Cape Town.
When to go – Visit this place during sunrise or sunset.

20. Chouara Tanneries in Fez, Morocco
How to get there – From Palais Amani the famous Chouara Tanneries are only 5 minutes walking. The tannery is surrounded by little shops owned by eager salesmen that want to take you up to their terrace to offer a view over the tanneries. I opted for the main entrance (TIP: ask a woman, they will show you the exact location and don’t expect any money in return).
When to go – Go around 5pm, there will be less people working there so you won’t be disturbing the locals when taking photos.

21. Loser Alm in Austria
How to get there – Drive up the Loserhütte and you’re there 🙂
When to go – This place is spectacular for sunrise

22. Fisherman’s Bastion in Budapest, Hungary
How to get there – This historical gem is located on the Buda side of Budapest. Take tram 19 or 41 which will take you also on a scenic route alongside the Danube and get off 1 stop after or before the Chain Bridge depending if you are coming from the Gellert or Margaret. From there it’s a steep climb up but I promise you it is worth it! For those of you who don’t want to go up on foot you can also take the funicular right in front of the Buda Castle.
When to go – Make sure to be there for sunrise or otherwise expect to share this place with 200 other tourists.

23. The Treasury, Petra in Jordan
How to get there – The Treasury is the first big stop when hiking through Petra and is located about 20 minutes from the visitor center. To get to the viewpoint you will have to ask one of the bedouins to guide you up (make sure to avoid the ones that look like Jack Sparrow).
When to go – The visitor center opens at 6 am so make sure you are there on time! This is very crucial if you wish to have almost no other tourists in your photos. Don’t stop along the way to take photos but head straight for the Treasury. We first took a couple of photos on the ground but the camels weren’t there yet so in the meantime we climbed up to get to the viewpoint. The longer you wait the more chance you will have at harsh sunlight hitting the Treasury! After we got back down the camels had arrived!

24. Göreme in Cappadocia, Turkey
How to get there – The best town to stay in is Göreme. From here you can watch all of the hot air balloons take off into the sky every single morning during sunrise.The closest airport is Nevsehir, from here you can take a taxi or a pre-arranged bus to your hotel.It’s a very tiny airport but do make sure you go into the international terminal when you arrive (on your left) since your luggage will be handled separately when arriving.
When to go – March to October are the most popular months for visiting.

25. Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia
How to get there – The easiest way is to ask your hotel for a Tuk Tuk driver.
When to go – Angkor Wat is famous for it’s beautiful sunrises. Make sure to check what time the sun rises when you’re there and then leave your hotel 1 hour earlier. If you still have to get your ticket for the site count in an extra 30 minutes.
