The Most Instagrammable places in Ubud
1. Campuhan Ridge Walk
- How to get there – Campuhan Ridge Walk is located in Ubud and can be easily reached by car or scooter. If you’re staying in Ubud center you can even walk there.

- When to go – Go at sunrise to get the best lights for photos, to avoid big crowds and to escape the heat. The entire ridge walk is without any cover so once the sun is up it is bound to get pretty hot up here!
- Entrance – Free

2. Tegalalang Rice Terraces
- How to get there – The Tegalalang rice terraces are about 20 minutes driving from Ubud center. The easiest way to get here is either by motorbike or if you hire a driver for a day.

- When to go – Tegalalang is one of the most visited places in Bali. I strongly advise you to leave before sunrise. This way you will start your hike when it’s pretty dark but you will have it all to yourself. From as soon as 8am the first tour groups will start to roll in.
Tip: Don”t wear sandals here! Especially during rain season this place can get very muddy and you will do a lot of hiking up and down the rice terraces.
- Entrance – 15 000 IDR, once inside you sometimes may encounter the owner of one of the rice terraces who will ask for a donation. Do know that hundreds of people come visit this spot every day and a lot of their hard work gets destroyed. So it’s only normal you have to pay this. That being said, when I arrived the official entrance booth wasn’t even open yet so I went in for free :p.

3. Tegenungan Waterfall
- How to get there – You can either get here by motorbike or drive here after visiting the Tegalalang rice terraces with your driver. Once you arrive at the entrance you will have to go down a lot of stairs but it’s well maintained so easily done. The walk down takes around 10 minutes.

- When to go – It’s no use if you arrive here at sunrise cause you won’t have enough light. Wait until 9am to see the sun coming through the palm trees from above!
- Entrance fee – 15 000 IDR

4. Tibumana waterfall
- How to get there – Tibumana waterfall can be reached by motorbike or car. Once you arrive at the parking lot you will still have to walk down a little. It’s another easy hike down and absolutely stunning since you will walk alongside a small river and hundreds of tropical flowers. It takes around 15 minutes to walk to the waterfall.

- When to go – I arrived around 8 am and was still the only one here 🙂

5. Aura House Bali
- How to get there – Aura House is part of Green Village and my absolute favourite place to stay in entire Bali. You can reach Green Village by car or motorbike and should definitely spend at least 2 nights here. Book your stay here

- How to get there – Origin Ubud is located 15 minutes walking from Ubud main street. It’s the perfect place to escape the busy touristy streets in Ubud center.

7. Camaya
- How to get there – Camaya can be reached by motorbike or car and is the perfect place to spend either 1 or 2 nights. From here you can easily explore all the places located in Amlapura (scroll down to see). Reservations need to be made ahead of time cause their units sell out fast! For booking your stay click here.

- How to get there – Villa Nirvana is located on the same property as Camaya Bali and is a much cheaper option. Book your stay here.

9. Wapa di Ume Sidemen
- How to get there – Wapa di Ume Sidemen is located close to the center of Sidemen and can be easily reached by either motorbike or car. Book your stay here.

10. Taman Tirtagangga
- How to get there – All of the locations in Amlapura can be reached from your stay in Sidemen either by motorbike or you can hire a driver for the day and tick all of these locations off.

- When to go – Go as early as possible to avoid the crowds. The temple opens at 7am and closes at 6pm. A lot of tourists visit this place on a day trip from Ubud so by 10am the place is packed.
- Entrance fee – 10 000 IDR
11. Bukit Cinta
- How to get there – This viewpoint is pretty easy to find when following the Google Maps instructions underneath. You’ll see that wen you arrive there is no real place to park so be careful when crossing the street! At first it might look tricky with the high grass but there is a small pathway through the grass that you can follow so you can actually see where you step.

- When to go – It’s the perfect place to watch the sunrise! The view over Mount Agung in the background is also the best in the morning. In the afternoon it tends to be covered by clouds.
12. Taman Soekasada Ujung
- How to get there – There is a big parking lot at the entrance so this place can be easily reached by car or motorbike.

- When to go – This temple isn’t that crowded actually, I arrived at noon and besides the harsh light that was obviously there it was pretty easy to shoot!
- Entrance fee – 50 000 IDR

13. Ulun Danu Beratan temple
- How to get there – You can get here by either motorbike or car. During my stay at Munduk Moding plantation I was able to visit a lot of places in Munduk together with them on a morning trip.

14. Handara gate
- How to get there – You can get here by either motorbike or car. During my stay at Munduk Moding plantation I was able to visit a lot of places in Munduk together with them on a morning trip. The gate is located in front of a golf course and is right next to the road actually so very easy to access.

- When to go – Visit this place after the water temple and you’re safe. If you arrive too late you might end up waiting in line to take photos.
- Entrance fee – 30 000 IDR
15. Hidden Hills Wanagiri
- How to get there – Hidden Hills is located around lake Buyan and is one of those iconic photo spots that you just can’t miss when staying in Munduk.

16. Banyumala Twin waterfalls
- How to get there – The waterfalls are located a little more to the north. Once you arrive to the parking lot prepare for an impressive hike down. The pathway is less maintained and can be very slippery sometimes so be very careful! It takes about 20 minutes to hike down.

17. Hidden waterfall
- How to get there – This waterfall is located right next to the Banyumala Twin Waterfalls and is only 2 minutes walking.

18. Munduk Moding Plantation
- How to get there – Munduk Moding Plantation is located near lake Buyan and can be easily reached by car. As I said before I organised a fun trip together with the hotel. They have general tours but you have the option to book a private one when you can choose the time of departure and which places you will visit. Ask Ketut as driver, he is the one that showed me the hidden waterfall and helped me taking a lot of photos.

19. Leke Leke Waterfall
- How to get there – Leke Leke waterfall is located on the way from Munduk to Canggu and is definitely worth the stop over. Do know that it is a long hike down (around 30 minutes) and in the end it is slippery as hell. This is where yours truly face planted in the mud. Also, know that your shoes will probably be ruined :D.

20. Jatiluwih Rice Terraces
- How to get there – Jatiluwih rice terraces are best visited on a day trip from either Ubud, Munduk or Canggu.

- When to go – It’s less famous as the Tegalalang rice terraces but can still get pretty crowded so make sure to arrive early!
- Entrance fee – 40 000 IDR
