There’s nothing as fun as making a dull photo looking spectacular with just a few simple clicks. These days there are a ton of mobile apps for editing photos. Some of them good, some of them well, not so good. Over the past years I have tried out so many of them and in this post I have listed the most fun mobile apps for editing photos!
11 Fun Mobile Apps for Editing Photos
1. Adobe Lightroom CC
In my personal opinion this is the best app out there for editing your photos. You can adjust the brightness, contrast, clarity and colour grading. All with the help of a few easy sliders!
This is the app that will allow you to use presets (photo filters created specifically for editing photos in Lightroom). A preset can be used as a base or as a one click edit. It’s important to realise that every photo is different and while sometimes a preset won’t give the immediate result that you want you can easily adjust them with the help of these sliders!
The Lightroom app also offers in app purchases such as the selective editing tool (brush, gradient filter, radial filter)
All of the photos above are edited in Lightroom with my ‘Dream Away with Me’ presets.
This app is perfect to delete small objects/people from your photo. It is super easy to use and most of the time you can remove unwanted items with just a few taps.
The app works best with a clear background since it will copy the information from another part of the photo to replace the unwanted object.
3. Lens Distortions
This app allows you to add natural elements to your photos such as fog, rain and rays of light. Each affect can be adjusted to your liking and you can even layer several effects on top of each other.
4. Enlight Quickshot
Available for iOS – Free
This is my go to app when I want to quickly change the sky in a photo and when I don’t have the time or ability to do it in Photoshop. There are a ton of skies available for free. If you want access to all of them there is the possibility to choose a subscription (prices vary depending on which one you choose).

This is the app I use to place subtitles on my photos! To do this you simply open the photo you want and click on Text. The font you need for this is called ‘System’. After that you can adjust the background and border et voila! You can now put subtitles on your photos!
The Nebi app allows you to add analog film filters and comes with 20 retro camera effects that you can add to your photos!
This is my go to app to add beautiful text overlays to my photos! It’s super easy to use and you can choose between a ton of fonts without having to purchase anything extra.
PicsArt is a fun app to play around with! You can add different fonts, stickers, make collages and add special effects to your photos!
9. Distressed FX
Available for iOS – $0.99
This app offers a lot of original overlays to add to your photos! Plus this is the app people use if they want to add birds to their photos ;).
Canva is one of my favourite apps out there and it’s not just for editing photos! In Canva you can create beautiful posters, pins, flyers, banners and so much more. There are a ton of free background and illustrations available to fuel your creativity!
Afterlight is a fun app to play around with, especially with the double exposure! This feature allows you to combine two of your images and create a fun and original overlay!
To be able to use all of the features you need a monthly subscription of €3,49.
As always, happy editing and I hope you will have fun playing around with all of these mobile apps!
